Ava Anderson made some noise in February! On February 21st, Ava herself made an appearance on the Rhode Island morning show–The Rhode Show. This was Ava’s second time visiting the show. She talked about the expansion of the Ava Anderson Non-Toxic product line and her continued mission to spread the word. Check it out: Ava on The Rhode Show.
Nanoparticles are miniscule particles, measured in billionths of a meter, that have introduced a new generation of potentially risky and broadly used ingredients into personal care products. Where are they hiding? Why should we avoid them and how?
“Fragrance” is at the top of my “no-no” list. In the U.S., manufacturers can legally hide hundreds of synthetic chemicals in the one word–“fragrance”–without revealing what those ingredients are. It’s referred to as a “trade secret” in the industry. Environmental Working Group (EWG) researchers found more than 75 percent of products listing the ingredient “fragrance” contained phthalates (THAL-ates). Read your labels and avoid this ingredient listing.
Ava was recently asked to be a guest blogger for Prevention Magazine by Editor Maria Rodale. In this blog, Ava shared information about hormone disruptors. As Ava writes, a recent report from the Environmental Working Group states, “There is no end to the tricks that endocrine disruptors can play on our bodies—increasing production of certain hormones, decreasing production of others, imitating hormones, turning one hormone into another, interfering with hormone signaling, telling cells to die prematurely, competing with essential nutrients, binding to essential hormones, and accumulating in organs that produce hormones.”

The Ava brand was called out as a product brand to trust by Vegan Housewives: Vegan Product Review | Ava Anderson Non-Toxic
Ava was asked to speak at the Babson Business School Entrepreneurship Forum in front of hundreds of current and future successful entrepreneurs and business owners.
Ava spoke at TedX in Providence, RI, in front of 1,000 guests. What a terrific opportunity to share the message of toxic chemicals in personal care products, cleaning products, body burden and diseases caused by these chemicals, with a special mention of the damage to the environment.
Ava spoke with the Global Advisory Board to Babson College. They confirmed one thing – there is a huge need for her products and her message around the world!
Ava’s Big Gift! – AVA has funded Babson College Women’s Entrepreneurial Accelerator – We are just thrilled to be paying it forward and offering the entrepreneurship opportunity to other young women with great ideas! We are the sole funder (along with our family) of the first Women’s Entrepreneurial Accelerator Program at a U.S. College. This is a picture of the first class of women who went through a rigorous process to be accepted into this new program at Babson College (where Ava attends). They will have access to the school’s legal, financial, marketing, advertising, management teams and much more to “accelerate!” their business to launch and beyond. We are so excited for them, and wish these women the best of luck in their ventures!
